zuteSo... the weird thing is, if you inherit your same-gender parent's caste, wouldn't these castes end up almost entirely of the same gender? I guess the exception would be if castes intermarry mostly within the same caste it would be all right. But if you had smiths always marrying warriors, it'd be a problem eventually.
I'm not a mathematical whiz but I could imagine you could analyze how soon a 51% female smith caste would become all female by plugging in some numbers for how often they marry out of caste versus within caste and making up some numbers about female/male birth rates and so on.
Anyway, just something fun to think about. :)

DA2 Direct Download Question
Dec. 27th, 2010 03:05 pmmiri1984I have no idea how this works, so I hope you guys can help me out (I'm too shy to post this on the BSN boards because I'm sure there are people there who will point and laugh at my ignorance - you guys may well do the same, but I like you more, so I don't mind).
I can't buy DA2 through Steam, so I'm going to pre-order through the EA site. However, we're about to get delivery of a brand new computer which will certainly be in our house by the time DA2 comes out, but possibly not before January 11. If I pre-order on my present computer will that make a difference? Or do you just get a code or something to put in once the game is released and it doesn't matter which computer your order it on?

Rating: ESRB Rating of M for Mature
Summary: Zevran was pretty sure he saw where this headlong rush to end the Blight was going: very far downhill, very quickly. And that was before the Grey Warden who spared his life turned into a bear. Now the only thing he's sure of is that it's not going to end like all the other fairy stories.
Crit: I'm new to the fandom, and more importantly, new to writing these characters! I've tried to capture them as accurately as possible, but if you notice something out of place, do feel free to point it out.
Notes: I play fast and loose with canonical dialogue, the contents of various cinematics, the order of minor events, etc. Fic starts in medias res, because confusion is good for the brain.
