Requests and Recommendations

Here's a little tutorial on how we're going to handle fic and art requests and recommendations. By 'requests,' I don't mean requests for commissions or things of that nature. I mean a request for fanfiction or art recommendations from the rest of the community. A recommendation is what it sounds like: if you like a fic or a piece of art, recommend it to the community. Not only will this give us a lot of great fics to read and art to view, but it will also help promote the Dragon Age fandom in general.


Here is an example of a request:

Does anyone know of any good multi-chaptered M/MA/NC-17-rated fanfiction with an Alistair/f!Mahariel pairing? Other pairings are welcome as long as this is the main one. Drama is good but I prefer humor to be peppered in, as I think that this makes stories seem more realistic.

 

By the way, I would be more than happy to have that request fulfilled!


Here is an example of a recommendation:

Are you a fan of Sten? Are you open to the idea of being convinced to like Sten? Either way, I'd highly recommend

twist_shimmy 's "Strangers With Cookies." I really like it because she manages to portray Sten in a way that makes him an introspective, humorous, and relatable character. I didn't really like him before I read her fic, but now I feel like I understand him a lot better. Here is the fic information according to twist_shimmy 's journal:

Sten/f!Mahariel, Alistair/Leliana
Rating: M
Chapters: Eighteen + Epilogue
Complete? Y!
Summary: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Sten and Adhara, a Dalish Warden, have little in common but disdain for the human race. Looks good! So post that as its own post on the main page with the tag "fic requests" and you're good to go! By the way, twist_shimmy's "Two Pups and a Bastard" starts sort of like that if you haven't read it already :)
