As always love and hugs go to my lovely Comma Fairy, [personal profile] bellaknoti  for beta-ing my stuff.

Title
: Blackpowder, Treason & Plot
Characters: M!Aeducan/Bhelen/Rica
Rating: T (I never rate any lower just in case my sensibilities are tougher than other peoples)
Word Count: 2100 approx
Summary: An Aeducan King holds the highest rank in Orzammar, but a Paragon shines brighter by far in the Memories. Bhelen and Duran are all smiles on the surface, but when has that ever meant anything in the dwarven homeland?

There's always such a lot of fuss about Halloween at this time of year, but here in the UK it is closely followed by Bonfire Night.

Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot
.

With this in mind, I've written a Fawkes-Night-influenced story.

I hope you enjoy it!

MODS:  The general unpopularity of dwarves is such that there is no tag for ANY of my three chars in this fic!  Can M!Aeducan, Bhelen and Rica be created please?

Hey there! It appears my epic-length story is really getting serious as I surpassed 500,000 words with chapter 43. It seems I got it to exceed 20,000 words, oddly enough. I know I didn't post the last few chapters here but hey, this is a MILESTONE!

Title: Caged in Stone
Words: 20,000+ (I know, scary. Many will run away in terror at the sheer size of it)
Characters: m!Aeducan, Trian Aeducan
Summary: After finally meeting Trian again (whose death had been faked way back in chapter 5)  in chapter 42, the dwarf noble ends up reading through his journal to see just how in the deeps his older brother actually became a reasonable person while captive and hidden from everyone in Orzammar, including King Endrin, their father, and Bhelen (by the protagonist's directives). He finds out some interesting things (no, not THAT kind of interesting).

So, I've been kicking this idea form one side of my skull to the other trying to find the appropriate theme songs for the six Wardens in that not-so-little tale of mine (Dragon Age: The Crown of Thorns). I am one of those hopelessly poetically-challenged people that feel a song can capture the spirit and personality of whoever it is one happens to be writing or reading about.

So I figured I'd abuse my rights here and post what musical themes I found, more or less, for my six main characters and thought I'd ask you all if you have your own. I'm definitely curious to hear awesome and inspirational music any time. Maybe my horizons will be opened to other possibilities for my own characters.

I'm not sure if something like this was done before, but if it has, it was probably long enough ago that I might get away with a repeat.

So let's see... )

Hope the giant walls o' text didn't leave you scarred for life. :P

So, what are your characters like and what music fits them?

Right, so I've been writing this since June last year and am sitting at almost 400,000 words, which is interesting, considering that I'm barely reaching a third of what I want to accomplish with this.

This is the same story I wrote about some time ago but I didn't get around to posting the actual chapters here. Still, Chapter 35 was, arguably, one of the most highly anticipated yet because it practically kicks off the Orzammar plot line, which is the most important because the protagonist is a Dwarf Noble Warden. There's also how Trian isn't actually dead, as his death was faked (by the protagonist in question), without his consent of course).

So yes, there WILL be a THIRD OPTION as far as choosing the Orzammar King goes, maybe even a fourth option, who knows.

Those that want a reminder (or summary):

-All Wardens were recruited (except the Human Mage, the elf mage is present)
-Ostagar, Lothering, Redcliffe and part of Denerim were visited and dealt with, mostly;
-Pairings: m!Brosca/f!Tabris (yes, those two are together, believe it or not), f!Cousland/Alistair (very original, I know :P). This is it so far.
-m!Brosca and f!Tabris are behind the Dark Wolf heists;
-Chapter 34 Was dedicated to the New Year's prank (it's better than it sounds, I promise). Basically, Loghain, along with the entire Kingdom of Ferelden, were pranked by The Dark Wolf.

Anyway, here is chapter 35. It's a long one, but I hope those few of you who skim through it find it at least mildly interesting.

Right, so I was writing my epic-length tale (Dragon Age: The Crown of Thorns) and this plot bunny just wouldn't leave me alone. It's a tie-in with said fiction, part of the backstory.

Title: Premeditated
Characters: Maric, Aeducan, Trian.
Summary: The Provings had bee fine, but the feast for Trian's introduction as heir was too Orlesian for Maric... until the second eldest prince decided to help his brother look good at all costs, especially if it involved an apparently bloodied nug of death.

Read on if you like to read about seven year-old princes that are too smart for their own good and like to prank all the noble house heads in Orzammar by means of a mysterious red fluid (it's not insane... mostly).

Hello!

Now that we've got a bunch of wonderful recruits and a beautiful theme and banner set (thanks to the indefatigable
[personal profile] twist_shimmy ), it's about time we started including all of you in the process.

This post is a chance for you to help us up the awesomeness quotient of this community. You're welcome to give us any sort of feedback or make any suggestions you want, but here are some questions I'm going to throw out here for now:

1) Shimmy and I create the tags you'll be able to use here. Are there other tags you'd like to see in addition to the ones we've already chosen?

2) Do you like polls?

Do you like polls?
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
Hell no! I refuse to take part in this poll! ...Wait.
I have no opinion on polls whatsoever.
I just like to click on circles.
Having five answers is numerically superior to four. Prime numbers FTW!
Results

3) Do you have any ideas for a way to shorten our community name that don't make us look like deadbeats? It seems unlikely that "PoT" will make us simply look like gardening enthusiasts.

4) Do you have any interest in discussion posts? For example: "Who would win in a fight--Sir Laundry or Master Ignacio?" "What do you think of DA2's push to make the races more morphologically different?" (Thanks for the science, Shimmy)

5) Would providing FAQs on how to make icons and banners in Photoshop be helpful?

6) Once the community is large enough, do you think it would it be fun to have fanfiction prompts and challenges? (If enough artists are around, we could do these for fanart too).

7) Would you be interested in fic and art swaps?

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other comments/questions/suggestions about the community. This post is your best opportunity to do so, especially because it'll let us all discuss the issues together, so please take advantage of it :)

Dragonmod here!

I'm not dead! Expect a bit of maintenance happening behind the scenes, as well as a post I've been meaning to get live for a while coming soon.

For the record, we're no longer considering DLC spoilerrific, especially now that we're in the dry spell between DLCs and the new DA game.

Thanks darlings!
