Title: The Tale of the First Blood
Characters: rogue m!Hawke, Aveline, Bethany and some blink-and-miss OCs; vicariously present are Varric, Cassandra, Captain Jeven and Seneschal Bran.

Summary: How a man's life was transformed into a Legend: Reinar Hawke's journey told through the stories that spread around Thedas, the paper trail that Cassandra unearthed, Varric's interrogation transcripts - and fragments of what actually happened.

In this chapter, Reinar arrives in Kirkwall and kills some people. No one cares about it, but everyone and their mother have an opinion. Most of them get it wrong due to differing agendas.

The title translates to, literally, cut the pear in two - an idiom for compromise, or meeting halfway. All the "Orlesian" in the fic is being translated by Adrienne and IrishLassie.
