peopleofthedas I made it clear that this wasn't meant to be competition against Zevran, SiB, or any others, but rather a sister community on DreamWidth. In fact, mods from several LJ comms have integrated quite happily here. It's GLORIOUS! We're a supportive community. We're low-key, we're intelligent, and we get along. We have nice things because overall we're pretty good at working with each other and accommodating for a wide range of tastes.
Unfortunately, I've recently been seeing some backlash against some of the other comms cropping up in comments. Some of you aren't members of other comms for reason X and Y, and that's totally legitimate. You're welcome to explain the circumstances in a civilized fashion, and other people should be allowed to ask if they're curious. We're all adults here; I'm not telling you what you can and can't talk about, because like with all things we're allowed to have different opinions.
But. BUT. Community bashing is an excellent way to lose the nice thing we have. What I want you to consider is
how badmouthing other communities makes us look to people who are being directed here because of drama. I also want you to decide if that is how we want to attract new members, or whether that attracts the sort of person we want here at all.
Then, decide how these sorts of discussions about other communities should sound in the future.
Now get the fuck back to what you all were doing before I have an apoplexy.
