Title: Apostates of Amaranthine / Chapter 78: Swear to Never Leave Ferelden Again
Characters: f!Amell/Anders/cast of thousands
Rating: Overall is M/AO, this chapter is T
Word Count: 6233
Summary: Maggie Amell thinks she's going to rebuild the Grey Wardens. The Chantry and Darkspawn have other ideas. Post-Awakenings, tons of OCs. Gallows humor/occasional or not so occasional smut/politics and religion like woah/blood and guts
In this episode: Everyone could put their best face forward and act like normal, responsible adults for Fiona. Or, they could act like themselves. Guess which they pick.

And here's the cut )

My husband just finished Awakenings for the first time.  He teamed up with the Architect, which really surprised me as I've never once managed to justify doing so.

My argument:  The possibility of ending the Blights is all very well but Grey Wardens primarily fight darkspawn, not Blights.  Creating a sentient race of darkspawn is a Bad Thing, and not worth it in the long run because
(1) ultimately they will want a nation of their own, so you are creating another political power, one that will ultimately be looking for land of their own.
(2) they breed by taking human women and turning them into broodmothers
(3) mere exposure to them gives the other races a disease that either kills or turns you into a darkspawn (a terrifying thing in a rival nation, particularly as it turns you into the non-sentient, and therefore slave, variant).

My husband's argument was simple.  "These are all very good points, but do they give you the right to leave an entire species enslaved?  Is it moral to leave a species enslaved, merely because they would be a greater threat if they weren't?"

I still say: as a humanitarian, no, but as a Grey Warden, damn right.

But it made me curious, so what do you lot think?

Summary: The struggles of the Orlesian Wardens, starting before the Blight and continuing through the events of Awakenings. This is supposed to be told out of order, but just like the famous Immovable Object by [personal profile] aroihkin , it's just being bossy instead.
Rating: lower than T. K I guess.
Characters: Duncan, Sidona Andras, Emperor Florian
Thank you to my beta, sagacious_rage!  (Also we could maybe use an orlesian warden among the PC tags?)

Duncan touched his hand to the small of her back. )

I don't think that I ever posted this chapter on peopleofthedas and that is a CRIME TO OUR COMMUNITY. So here it is, the opener for Vigilance. Now it's all gathered in our group, yay!

SUMMARY: The Wardens of Orlais long before the blight started, continuing through Awakenings, sometimes includes Duncan peen, although not this time.
CHARACTER: Warden Commander Sidona Andras like waaaaaaaaaay before she became warden commander.
RATING: T for violence.... ish.

You will die, it said. )

Dragonmod here!

I'm not dead! Expect a bit of maintenance happening behind the scenes, as well as a post I've been meaning to get live for a while coming soon.

For the record, we're no longer considering DLC spoilerrific, especially now that we're in the dry spell between DLCs and the new DA game.

Thanks darlings!
