1.) What's your name?
W: *folds her arms over her chest* Warden-Commander Withiel Tabris.
F: *runs a hand through her hair* Finn Mahariel.
M: Finnariel Mahariel. Who are you, and why are you asking me questions? *looks distrustful*
K: *lifts chin* Kambriana Cousland.

2.) Do you know why you were named that?
W: Uh. My mom thought it sounded pretty?
F: I think my parents liked that it rhymed.
M: I think my parents liked that it rhymed. *exchanges uncomfortable glances with Finn*
K: A former Queen of Ferelden, they tell me. *grins* Mother had high hopes; I won't disappoint her.

3. Are you single or taken?
W: *laughs* Every night, when I'm lucky, and sometimes in the day, too.
F: I... *glances at Alistair and blushes* Taken.
M: *narrows eyes* Bonded.
K: Oh, I’m very much spoken for.

4.) Have any abilities or powers?
W: I can smell evil a mile away, and I could pick the lock on the Queen's chastity belt in the middle of court, before anyone knew I was there.
F: I can tell if there are darkspawn around... does that count?
M: I’m a hunter and a warrior. I can track animals and people, and blend into the woods well enough that most shemlen and flat-ears never see me.
K: I could charm the pants off a Templar in the middle of battle. Actually... *looks at Alistair and grins, wickedly. He blushes.*

W: I'm not! I-- *glances to the side, catches Zev's eye, looks down, scratches elbow* I'm not sure that's really possible, sorry.
F: I've never been a Mary-Sue.
M: *scoffs* I am myself, and no one else.
K: Hah! No danger of that.

6.) Uh... if you were to get in a fight with a strong wrestler, do you think you'd win?
W: Of course. He wouldn't be expecting a knife in his back.
F: Possibly. I'm pretty fast.
M: *smirks* Yes. He'd never see me coming.
K: *laughs* You mean, if I let him get close enough to put his hands on me? If I was that inept, I’d deserve what I got.

7.) Riiiight... Have any family members?
W: My dad, some cousins, half a dozen Grey Wardens.
F: *looks at her toes, links hands with Alistair* Just one.
M: *arches an eyebrow* I have an entire clan.
K: *suddenly silent, exchanges glances with Alistair* Ask me something else.

8.) Oh? How about pets?
W: Nope. I'm pretty sure Skanda would bite me if I called him a "pet".
F: Ponka, my loyal war dog.
M: No. Why would I enslave another creature?
K: Raster doesn't really count as a pet. He's more like... a little war machine, with teeth.

9.) Cool, I guess. Tell me something that you don't like.
W: I've... learned to tolerate shems. I don't like looking weak.
F: I don't like having to figure out what to do with myself when I'm not working.
M: I don't like spiders.
K: I really don't like being lost.

W: I like any problem that can be solved with a knife.
F: *looks up at Alistair again and smiles* Feeling safe.
M: The green of sunlight through the leaves at midsummer.
K: Autumn!

11.) Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
W: *is bored and playing mumblety peg with her dagger* Are we done yet?
F: I like hunting. It stills the mind.
M: I’ve been working on learning to weave.
K: Ummm... No. Not really.

W: Uh... I live by my wits and my daggers. What do you think?
F: I-- *looks away and covers her face with her hands* Not on purpose. *voice is strained*
M: It was self-defence, and he deserved it. *folds her arms across her chest*
K: Yes. Unfortunately, it comes with being a noble.

W: *wicked grin* Why, did you find a witness?
F: *heavy sigh* It... has been necessary, sometimes. Few times have I felt just.
M: No.
K: Yes. *sets her jaw grimly* And there will be more, before I’m through.

W: The kind you don't want to meet in a dark alley.
F: A halla.
M: Wolf: fierce, protective of my family, loyal to my clan.
K: The most dangerous kind: an injured one.

W: I don't admit defeat, even when it would be more prudent to do so.
F: I... I don't know. But I bet if you talked to my friends, you'd get a long list.
M: I put others before myself, often to my own detriment.
K: Getting badly injured and falling over.

W: Just one person. ...What? Oh, you want a name? *sighs* Zev. He's still faster than me. *he smirks, she scowls at him, but can't hold the face*
F: Um... No... Not really. Brother Genetivi, maybe.
M: Ashalle.
K: Wynne; she's so wise.

W: Ummm... girls are pretty and all, but... I like boys. *blushes as Anders walks by, turns scarlet when she realizes Zev has caught her looking* Stop asking me personal questions. What next?
F: It depends on the person. There was this moment with Leliana... but... no.
M: I have only one partner, and he is a man. *looks over at Tamlen and smiles shyly, suddenly softening*
K: You know, I’ve been tempted, on more than one occasion, but that just doesn't help when I’ll need to secure the succession. Besides... *looks fondly up at Alistair* I don't really have any ambitions elsewhere.

W: School?
F: No; I learned from the hahrens of my clan.
M: Elvhen dirth el'era.
K: I took all my lessons in the library at Castle Cousland.

19.) Ever wanna marry and have kids one day?
W: Uh... *shifts uncomfortably* What did I say about personal questions?
F: Yes, more than anything. *blushes as she catches Alistair's eye again; he looks amused and puts his arm around her*
M: *smiles at Tamlen* Ma'arlath. El isala tan'len. *Tamlen laughs and wraps an arm around her waist, kissing her temple.* We have a child. *she rests a hand on her belly* Soon to be two.
K: That's the plan.

20.)Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?
W: ...Maybe? Uh... It's always nice to have a cheering section, I guess.
F: What?
M: *frowns*
K: *shrugs* Could be. Comes with being nobility.

W: *shares a very loaded glance with Zev* Being caught flat-footed without a healer.
F: *haunted look* Being surrounded by stone. *scoots closer to Alistair*
M: *links hands with Tamlen* Separation.
K: *wraps her arm around Alistair's waist, on the other side, and arches an eyebrow at Finn* Failure to keep my commitments.

W: Black.
F: Brown.
M: Brown.
K: Red.

W: Breeches, tunic, armour, boots, gloves, helm.
F: Tunic and pants, armour when I have to.
M: Leathers, if I’m hunting; a dress, if I’m in the camp.
K: Lately, it's been heavy armour, but usually, I wear dresses.

W: Uh... I didn't really believe in anything, but now I guess I believe in the Maker, after this thing I did at a temple up by Haven... Sometimes you just have this experience that kinda forces you to face the idea that there's something bigger than you out there, you know?
F: I believe in the Creators.
M: The Creators protect us.
K: Andrastian.

M: Yes. Hurry up.
K: You know, I’ve got other things I have to do today. Are we done here?

F: Redcliffe Village. *another smile for Alistair; she leans her head against his shoulder*
M: Wherever my clan travels.
K: Nowhere. But, eventually, the Royal Palace at Denerim.

W: I'm a Warden. We make our own class. Next.
F: I... don't know. We're not poor, but we're not nobility. I guess middle? I never thought about it.
M: I am a hunter, and a warrior.
K: I thought we already established this.

30.) How many friends do you have?
W: I've got 'friends' scattered the length and breadth of Ferelden; plenty of people to call in favours with. How many people do I really trust, though? Four. No, five. No, I'm not giving you their names.
F: I was supposed to keep count? Gosh, dozens, I think.
M: Everyone in my clan, and a few in others.
K: Four... I think.

31.) If you could change anything about you, what would you change?
W: Um... I guess I'd take away my fear of any place too soft or too underground. It makes life really difficult sometimes.
F: *looks away, gaze going distant, and stays silent for several minutes, then shakes herself* I'm sorry, what? Oh. Uh... I'd make myself more persuasive, I guess. *looks down at her hands*
M: I’d make myself stronger, physically. My arms need a lot of work.
K: Hmm... I’d like to be wiser, I think.

32.) What are your thoughts on pie?
W: Ooh, I like a good sausage pie on a cold day, especially at the market.
F: Pie? It's... food?
M: What is pie?
K: Ooh, Nan's apple pie was the best... *suddenly looks sad*

W: The kind that's mine, so I can eat it.
F: Roasted rabbit and apples.
M: Roasted rabbit and apples. *spoken at the same time as Finn. They exchange looks, Finn wide-eyed, Finnariel distrusting*
K: Oh, roasted duck with raspberry sauce. *looks rapturous*

W: Mead, when I drink... if I drink...
F: Honey whiskey. Why? Do you have some?
M: Honey wine.
K: I don't drink, but sometimes I’ll have a glass of wine at official functions.

35.) What is your favourite place?
W: Bed.
F: *sighs sadly* The Brecilian forest. *she catches Alistair's frown out of the corner of her eye and sits up abruptly* No, remember? It sort of... started there. You took me home. *she bites her lip and he just shakes his head; she leans against him again, looking disquieted*
M: The camp by the ocean; so many good things happened for us there.
K: You know, I actually quite liked Redcliffe. *smiles at Alistair; he smiles back at her, pleased. Finn looks at Kam jealously, and Kam simply ignores her.*

36.) Least favourite?
W: You know, there are so many. Anywhere I'm surrounded by shems, pretty much. But the Dalish weren't much better.
F: *haunted look again* Orzammar. *in whisper*
M: I suppose that would be the ruin where we lost Fenarel.
K: I really did not enjoy the Deep Roads. I do not look forward to the day when we go in there again to die.

W: *picks up an apple* Let's make a little bet. I bet that if you ask me one more sodding question, this apple will find its way down your throat, whole. *slaps two silvers on the table* Wager.
F: No, it's all right, go ahead.
M: Yes. I weary of this.
K: Do you realize how busy I am?

W: *looks around* What? Who? Zev? *exchanges a glance with Zev, both nod* There. Oh, you mean her? *sneers at Finn* Grow a spine. Proud Dalish, my ass. As for her? *looks at Finnariel and shrugs* She seems all right. *looking to Kam* She seems all right, for a shem.
F: *withering look* And yet, I treated the city-cousins with respect and shut down the Tevinter slavers. Apparently flat-ear pride is exclusive. *turns away, chin up, then looks at Finnariel. Her eyes fill with sorrow, and she looks away again. She casts a jealous look at Kam, who lifts her chin and curls her lip, completely not amused.*
M: *looking at Withiel* Good to see a city-cousin so unyielding and fierce. You'd fit in well, with us, I think, if you were willing to learn the lore. As for you, *looks at Finn, her mouth twisting* I understand, sister, but you're a disgrace. I can't believe you wear my face. *Tamlen puts his arms around Finnariel's waist and speaks, for the first time* You shouldn't have let your strength die, it is what I loved about you the most. *Finn bows her head and cries, Alistair sighs, Finnariel looks disgusted, Tamlen just looks sad. When she looks at Kam, she just shrugs.* She's a shemlen noble. What is there to say? She has nothing to do with me.
K: *looks at Finn* You. You do not deserve him. *Alistair arches an eyebrow, and she colours.* Hey, I may have made a mistake, but I’m not a snivelling wreck; I stand beside you, not only by your strength. *He nods, allowing her that. She looks at Withiel and Finnariel.* You do your people proud.

39.) Well, it's over.
W: *is already distracted by where Zev has put his hands, and turns her face to kiss him*
F: *rolls eyes, disgusted by Withiel and Zev* All right then, I hope I was helpful. *leaves, hand-in-hand with Alistair, but looks over her shoulder at Tamlen, longingly*
M: Finally. El'ven, lethallin; el'aravel. *Tamlen nods and picks up his bow, pointedly ignoring Finn; he and Finnariel leave without a backward glance*
K: Good. *wraps her arm around Alistair's waist and gives Finn another withering look, then gazes up at Alistair* I don't know what you see in her. Do we really have to bring her?


i do not tag people. do it if you feel it. i needed to get back into withiel's headspace, and remind myself why i'm done with finn. >.> it's been useful to really have something to illustrate the differences between their personalities. all of them, in fact.

ps - you guys are wicked awesome. seriously. i was not expecting this to explode like it did. i love all your characters. ^.^

Seriously?

I kill things that annoy me. People, too.

A what? Does that have something to do with my loose grip on sanity most days, or is it why I fucking curse too fucking much?

In general, I don't like most people. The darkspawn dreams also kind of suck. If you want specifics...I actually don't particularly like it when the nobles call me the Elven Whore behind my back.

No. I don't like children, and the only person I'd want to marry is completely out of the question. Even if it weren't, contrary to popular opinion, I do not want to be Queen.

Ser Perth in Redcliffe. He's very sweet, but he acts like I'm the second coming of Andraste, and I'm afraid that one day he's going to be very disappointed.

Being trapped.

Dark red. No, I don't dye it and no, I'm not going to prove it to you.

Dark brown. Alistair insists they look red when I'm angry, but he's totally full of shit.

The Blackblade armor. It's comfortable, and it looks good on me.

That's...I don't really know, to be honest. The Maker never did much for me or any elf. I was really into the Creators when I first learned about them, but then I started to wonder why the Dalish bothered to worship a bunch of really ineffectual gods who weren't around when our civilization was destroyed.

Me and Andraste, though? After the whole Sacred Ashes thing, we're pretty tight.

1.) What's your name?
R: Warden Commander Raonar Aeducan. And before you ask, no, I don't like the name either.
T: *looks nonplussed* Theron Mahariel.

2.) Do you know why you were named that?
R: Unfortunately yes. Seems the people on my mother's side had this thing about unusual names. My mother herself was named Errinne of all things. Turns out Father didn't want his the crown prince to have too odd of a name so he named him Trian but made a compromise to let mother name the second eldest, which was me.
T: My parents named me after my great grandfather, who was the Keeper of our clan, long ago.

3. Are you single or taken?
R. *Looks distant for a moment* Single.
T: Not that I am available as a romance option, but I am also single.

4.) Have any abilities or powers?
R: Would take a long time to explain. Suffice to say I became a Spirit Warrior when I came into contact with a powerful Fade Spirit about four years ago, though I lost my magic resistance in the process and I also have this little problem where magic works odd around me, to the point where even healing spells barely work. Yes, life is marvelous, I know.
T: Well, aside form the obvious grey Warden assets, I have very sharp hearing, can fight while blind and can also communicate with some of the denizens of the forest. *he points to his wolf, Anor*
