Killing dragons? Wandering the irradiated wasteland? Saving humanity by way of colored explosions?
We're deep into that lull between games and it's no secret that things have gotten quiet around here. I know a lot of us have been branching out. So... share. What have you been up to? Fic in any new fandoms? Working on any OPs you want to talk about? Let's chat!

Not doing as much role playing as I'd like either.
Playing: thanks to the Steam Summer Sale
Witcher & Witcher 2 (after I'm done with the first), Diablo 3, Thief Series (not getting far interface is clunky) and when I can't handle a story, Coconut Queen and Ranch Rush. :)
As the lovely Smut Princess says, we've been working hard on the Ferox Series...yes it's a series, um 6 individual parts?, with an all encompassing overarching story. And yes, Beta needed, wanted and loved and we would gladly trade work for someone who needs the same.
xo folks I'm back to coloring on maps...Yes, I have a new job too :D

Also, the Thief series is one of my favorite game franchises, if you want any mod recommendations to make it a little more user friendly in the modern age let me know. The Dark Engine (the engine used by the first two Thief games as well as System Shock) is a real bitch and a half to get running smoothly on a modern multicore processor, and it requires a bit of tweaking so the cutscenes will run properly. (also, fun fact... Stephen Russell, voice of Garrett, is Mercer Frey in Skyrim. As well as a few other characters, but that was the one that tickled me the most.)
The Steam version may be a little more user friendly, but I found the GOG version wasn't 100% playable on 64 bit Win 7 without a bit of finessing.

Witcher 2: Stupid Kracken keeps eating me for lunch, and dinner, and yes, i tried again after breakfast. Decided to level up by doing other quests, feeling pretty good about this decision.
Thief: Seems to run, ty to Steam, but I haven't tried anything beyond the first little intros. Just enough to see if it's working. Will try them after Witcher 2.
Skyrim: I keep looking at Skyrim, but I couldn't play the predecessors (Morrowwind/Oblivion) due to a rather anal tendency of having to pick up every napkin, fork, pair of shoes, etc and sell them. Took me hours to empty one dungeon running back and forth to the store...am hoping that a) these objects aren't worth anything or b) new meds have taking out that need in me to harvest everything...not putting money on this one due to the Witcher picking flowers off every plant. I was able to convince him (myself) that he didn't need to do that after he had 10k gold...but I still caught him doing it once and a while (*making face*).
Course, I still have a Star Trek and Lord of the Rings lifetime memberships, Diablo III, a weekly Monday night group of engineers playing City of Heroes/Villains (going on our 7th year, btw), but I was able to end the Star Wars subscription. :D One tiny success, but for me it's a celebration (*laughing*) - admittedly, I haven't even booted up Star Trek, LOTRO, or Diablo in several weeks.
All this while maintaining home, family, a sporadic job of writing technical documents, and trying to keep up the Ferox series. And darn it, I wanna roleplay!
