So... Does anyone need an Archive of Our Own invite?  I've got ten.  I literally hit "request invites" and gave "to woo people in the DA fandom away from ffnet" as my reason... and about two hours later ten shiny new codes were dropped into my account.  Drop me a PM with your email address.

Decided to delurk to say that he's also apparently voiced by Commander Shepard (which I'm sure most of the local ME fans already knew, but in case you didn't, I'm glad to have made you unable to play maleShep ever again without sniggering every 5 seconds provide the info.)

Plus, I so agree with him being the best animated character. I wish my femHawke would move like that. At least the one who's already flirting with everyone and their mother.

FF is treating me strangely. I've received a couple of reviews by email, but they aren't updating to the website. I have no idea why one or two people were able to review when others couldn't.

Still, it got me to the magic 400 so I could offer someone a pressie :)

It seemed to die at around 1 PM eastern, judging by when my reviews stopped.
It did show all of mine on the site and then, when I hit refresh, three of them disappeared. They're back now, though.
Someone also told me on BSN that they tried to review and couldn't. The window was erroring out.

I, for one, will be pimping AO3 in my author comments from here on out.

If FF aren't careful, they'll lose their massive audience. I'm amazed that the Big Boys (HP, Twilight, etc) haven't sodded off and set up their own sites by now, given the service probs on FF.

There are some HP-only sites, I think.

But... I suspect it boils down to the same reason all of us stay on ffnet instead of taking our toys to ao3 completely. That sweet sweet stat bar. If AO3 could get me a thousand hits a day I'd drop ffnet like it just admitted to having a social disease.

Yep, FF is just too well established. I can't see how to get the thousands of readers to jump ship, when they aren't the ones being adversely affected. Especially on a little fandom like ours, where we share a lot of our readers with other fandoms.

I'm trying to figure out if I should delete and repost the story that I posted just as things started going down. eh, I'll see if it fixes itself eventually.

My reviews that disappeared (literally... the number dropped from 41 to 38 when I hit refresh and stayed that way the rest of the day- and someone told me they couldn't submit a review or send me a PM) have reappeared. So hopefully things are better again.
