Please allow me to introduce myself...
Hi. I'm
darkrose on Dreamwidth, and
darkrosetiger on LiveJournal. I've been on DW since the beta, and playing DA for eight months, and I'm thrilled to bits at the idea of an active DA presence over here.
I'm 40, female, and living in Northern California with my wife,
telesilla, who plays DA, but doesn't write in the fandom....yet. We met seven years ago, on Fandom Wank when it was still on LJ. We got involved after she played Carrie-Ann Moss and Liam Neeson to my Jason Isaacs in the kinky celebrity RPG The Establishment on JournalFen. Those two facts tell you pretty much all you need to know about us. We have no children, for which you should all be grateful, but we do have two cats: Ogdred K. Weary and Alistair K. Theirin. (the K is for Kitteh).
In addition to DAO, which I'm currently running through with my F!Tabris for the third time, I'm currently playing City of Heroes/Villains, Aion, Sims 3, and Plants vs. Zombies. I played Baldur's Gate back in the day; it was my first online fandom. (I started writing fic to explain why my ass-kicking elven fighter would give Anomen the time of day.) My active fandoms in addition to Dragon Age at the moment are Stargate: Atlantis, Leverage, and RPF for various actors. Most of my fic is NSFW, and usually involves some variety of kink and exploration of sexual power dynamics.
My favorite NPC's are Alistair, Zevran, Nathaniel and yes, Loghain. (What? I was a Snape fan, too.) My favorite origin is the City Elf, because as a gamer of color, that's the closest I'm likely to come to seeing my experience reflected in a fantasy RPG. I have a lot of issues with the Bioware developers and writers, but I will give them credit for mostly getting it right when writing ethnic minority characters in the Dragon Age world.
My fic can be found on my DW under the fic: dragon age origins tag, or at
darkrose on AO3. I have serious ADD, which means I've got about six WIP fics in this fandom and only three completed. The finished ones are part of the Mad World story arc, also known as Whore!Alistair; I've also got a series going with my Tabris, and a Loghain/Female Mage Caron in Awakening.
I play Dragon Age on PC, and I've got a whole slew of active mods, including the Adoption mod. At some point, I'm going to play a mage Cousland with the Ser Gilmore mod.
I also have an unhealthy attachment to '70's and '80's music.

Ser Gilmore, NPC lets you have a FULLY VOICED AND SCRIPTED Ser Gilmore as a member of your party.

Yes. I've played a dwarf mage and a Cousland mage, though I didn't get that far with either of them. At one point, I'd played through the Harrowing so many times that I could do it in my sleep, but I really like mage characters.

The only problem is that it's not compatible with some of my other mods, so I'm trying to wait until I'm finished with all of my other active playthroughs before I install it.

I may have to agree that those attachments are in fact unhealthy ;)
