Good news, my darlings! They have made me full time, promoted me, and smacked me onto a day shift, so Dragonmod will be back around running things, leaving comments, and posting screenshots of questionable taste. :D

In celebration of this fact, have a video. During the Captain's Condolences, I've heard (and noticed myself) that most Hawkes never get the option to ask Aveline what she was going to say about her father. Well, my Hawke just did, so I recorded it and slapped it onto YouTube for the curious.

BEHOLD:

No idea why Casimir was the chosen Hawke. As you can see, he doesn't have any sort of strong relationship with her. He's never flirted with her, either. Can anyone else think of potential flags/had a Hawke who got the option so we can compare how we got there? The curiosity is killing me.

(For the record, I reloaded and did the scene again because that whole thing was horribly OOC for Cas the Ass. He HATED Leandra.)

Maybe it's a special "WE HATE FENRIS" bonding time? Because MAN does Cas hate Fenris.

I thought it was a bug they fixed? Before you could only get it if Aveline was in your party, but they fixed it so that anyone could. Other than that I'd assume it has to do with having high friendship/rivalry. eta: haha, posted before I actually watched your video. I definitely remember reading about it in one of the recent bug fixes, though.

It wouldn't shock me if it were a bug fix. I took a break from playing, so the timing would make sense.

Usually anything that happens here just makes Aveline hate me more. It has to be a bug fix... though that whole conversation was sweet.

I had no idea it was rare. Now I feel even stupider, especially with what a touching story it was.

Your comment about Seneschal Bran made me giggle. My boyfriend was watching me play, and when I spoke to Bran one time, he basically said something to the effect of, "Wow, who pissed in his cereal?"

Maybe someone did.

Maybe he just needs new cereal. And a friend.

There is now an insane mental image in my brain of Hawke and Bran camping out in the Viscount's office, eating cereal.

I will force myself to tastefully decline from making a Raisin Bran joke.

I always thought it was going to be something awful about him, because she never says anything nice anywhere else about dad.

I know I just played the game for the first time recently and did get the scene. I do remember reading somewhere that it was a bugfix, as well, just to confirm the other people saying the same thing above.

That's just making me cranky that my other Hawkes who DID care didn't get it because it was bugged when I bought the game. XD

Fortunately, I am usually months behind everyone else, so even though I get left out of all the fun launch excitement and discussions... I also end up missing a lot of the bugs.

Yep, I think it's a you only get the scene if Aveline is in your party when it's triggered. I've always gotten it, but then, she's in my party a lot. =) LOVE that scene. Love it.
