How do you write?

It's no secret that many, maybe even most of us here are writers.  In the interest of sharing "best practices," as they say in the cube farm, I thought it would be interesting to discuss our own processes.  Maybe someone can pick up a trick or two that way.  Some of us co-write, some use betas, one person (and my virtual hat is off to you for your bravery, [personal profile] miri1984 ), has even taken to livestreaming as she writes.
So, I suspect there's a great deal of variety.

Share! How do you write?

As I understand it, that's the correct approach. Turn off your internal editor, let the whole thing flood out and then craft and shape it. It just doesn't work that way for me, I dunno why. So I write very slowly (my output is only about 3-5k a week) but I only write it once.

But no, in pure technical writing terms, you are normal and I'm weird.

LOL, in no other terms though, trust me ;)

I write pretty slowly too, though, since for every word you see on the page, I probably wrote about seven. That is, sadly, not an exaggeration.

Thank you, m'dear ;)

And one-draft self-editing is not weird. It is to be coveted. I've managed that with short things, but if I mull on longer bits - or sequences of longer things - for too long, they get dry and overworked. Bummer.
