DA LOLZ - True Story
Reason #459002 why PoT is great.
So my husband is in the military, and called me today when he was on break. The followin' conversation went like this:
Hub: "So whatcha doin' honey?"
Me: "Just some PoT."
Hub: "....."
Hub: "....Baby... this is a work phone. Try and like.. not say things like that... for my sanity's sake. I mean, I'm okay with it if that's what you're doing, just... don't drive anywhere! And please tell me you're at a friends house or somethin'?"
Me: "Huh?"
Hub: "Oh man, how much did you do?"
Me: "Um... I think we... may not be on the same page honey."
Hub: "What?"
Me: "I'm on People of Thedas.. you know. That place. PoT."
Hub: "Oh dear god don't scare the piss outta me like that!"

Interestin'ly though I never did cut myself in the kitchen. Except one time when I was doin' dishes cuz our usual washer was out sick, a waiter quit and threw all her plates into the sink of soapy water, and whups - nice slice right from the tip of my ring finger to the base knuckle. Bled like an unholy terror. And I still had to do the dishes. No scar though!
The only other time I cut myself in a semi-cooking scenario was when I was filleting a fish I had just caught on the boat, and got that knife waaay up into my hand. Hello nerve damage!
Now I feel the need to go back to the market, buy some fresh figs to go with my little sweet oranges, drizzle some honey and cardamom on them and put'em in the fridge. Already got the cheese sliced up... nomnomnom.

If you don't mind me asking :)

*in the picki I only had my eyebrow and a single monroe, now I have both monroe lip piercings, a medusa (center of upper lip), two sets of spider bites (lip piercing on the bottom lip, two on each side), two in my right cheekbone, two in my left nostril, two in left eyebrow, one in right eyebrow, two in each ear. Left side of my neck and the back of my neck, and my right arm from top of my hand to just over my elbow. Going in to see my piercer and tattoo artists before I go to Germany to finnish off the piercings, and maybe do my left arm-glove.

And guess what? That's where I live XD
Yeah, Germany is pretty Goth-friendly (except parts of the south).

And yes, yes I know of Leipzig, I have wanted to go for years. Since we are shipping our soon to be purchased Saab over there, I will have free reign to drive around and get lost and drive around some more and be damn happy about it. Though if we were actually in Nuremberg we wouldn't ship the car as I know how good public transport is over there. And I'll bug everyone with pointed fingers at items going "Was ist das?" so I can relearn the language.

So you speak some German? That's nice, not many do. I think it's a long-winded and precise, yet whimsical language. But I'm biased :D
And you simply *have* to see Leipzig. Especially during the WGT. The whole city suddenly goes black, even the posh boutiques in the city-centre redecorate during the festival. And then the guests, more than 20000 goths from all over the world...

I took four years of German, but the reason it didn't stick with me is that I didn't learn it the 'natural' way. For instance, I went to Spain with like "Que estas?" and "Donde esta caille Andulcia?" and little things like that. But I would ask people "Que estas?" for everything, and now still remember 3/4's of what I learned. My usage isn't great grammatically, but I get by.
I figure with the foundation of understanding I had from school, plus my natural curiosity and outgoingness, I should be able to actually learn German for real this time, and not that by rote crap they do in classes. I'm super excited. Plus I've always found German to be a soothing language. My friends all say I'm crazy for that, but meh, whatever. My maiden name was Strausser, and my family was originally from Hamburg some generations back. Goin' back to my roots and all that....

That's what I look like now. Mods n'all. I'd like to go to a place where people don't freak out when they see me. Most of the States is like that. I mean I'm comfortable with how I look, and like it. But it still makes some people uncomfortable. Plus I'd like to be around more people like me - in person, not just online.
