Reminder: All Valentine's Day "Sugar and Spice" Exchange contributions are due to Shimmy's e-mail inbox (twist[dot]shimmy[at]gmail[dot]com) no later than 11:59pm in your own time zone this SaturdaySunday, February 13.

If it looks like, due to unforeseen circumstances, you may not be able to meet that deadline, let us know now. It would be very, very sad if you couldn't make it, but it would be very, very sadder if we were expecting something from you and didn't get it. Why would you want to make Dragonmod and Modkitty sad? (Not to mention your exchange partner XD)

After we receive them, the submissions will be posted here anonymously so we can all enjoy them and vote on their awesomeness. Winners will receive shinies courtesy of Shimmy, and everyone will prosper.

We can't wait to see what you've all come up with!

My story is scaring me. Sugar doesn't want to come out of my pen. It twists and becomes something else entirely. I asked my brain for something interesting and it does... that. Brain, brain, brain... can't you be nice for a change? Why do you have to go all crazy and twisty? Do you know how hard it'll be for two people to find love if they treat each other like... that?

my personal laptop got confiscated by the IAM (yep, they can do that cause i signed the paper) before i flew back home because they were concerned there MIGHT be FOUO info on it. there wasn't any, of course. but it's still behind a locked door sitting on the IAM's desk for final sign-out back to me while he was at a conf all day. i never had time to upload the latest version of my fic library back up to skydrive cause we didn't have connectivity, either. now it's been three days wasted when i could've been finishing up my fic. ::grumble, grumble::

anyways, i will do my bestest to have it in the mod's hot little hands NLT 11:59 HST on Sunday, 13 FEB. hurrah.

I don't know what any of those acronyms mean but I'm outraged on your behalf anyway! Get it to us if you can by the due date. If it's just not possible, we'll work something out. I am shaking my fist in anger at whoever the IAM is!

Isn't a .docx then? And my formatting looks weird, font has changed and paragraph spaces have disappeared. I've never tried it before now, but if it's somehow better, I would use it.

sorry about that, lol. i work in acronym city. IAM = information assurance manager. FOUO = for official use only.

glad to see we have until sunday; i'll need the extra time since they decided to wipe my hard drive just to be safe :( . and not even a normal re-format; they did the overwrite option. gawdddamned wikileaks bastards screwing things up for how the rest of us operate. good thing i have a backup image at home of my os & apps. but i lost my draft and another two chapters of Thanks. ces't la vie. rant complete.

no worries - i WILL have my v-day submission ready by sunday. it just won't be as long, probably. ;)

I lose all my formatting when I upload word docs to gdocs, too. Which is why I never use it for my own stuff, even though most of what I beta is on there.

You might consider using Google Documents or at least keeping copies of your stories on Google Documents. Shimmy and I use gdocs for lots of reasons, but one of the advantages is that we can both access them from anywhere (assuming we have Internet) and they're always saved online. Ideally one has everything both on gdocs and on one's hard drive.

I am still so angry for you! Jerks.

By all means don't stress yourself out about the deadline, but of course we love you and your stuff and want to read it :D

yes, i usually use skydrive (microsoft version of google docs) but that only works if you have an internet connection to back your files up to, lol. at the time, no such luxury. ah, the perils of travelling with the military.
