If you put Bhelen on the throne, the epilogue slide says he ruled as a reformist and gave the castsless greater rights, and that trade improved and blah blah. Everyone, thus, began to say 'rawr, Bhelen's the greatest' and started actually calling him the Dwarven Messiah on the Bioware social network boards. Honestly, he's not that special. he;s just a cutthroat whose last name just happened to be Aeducan.
And everyone seems to think he's a magnificent bastard, but really, that whole framing fiasco could have gone wrong in SO many ways. All it would have taken was for the DN to reach the rendezvous five minutes later or earlier, but NO, the game decided everything for you. I especially found it stupid that the DN isn't even allowed to CONSIDER Bhelen might be playing foul. I mean, it was just so obvious, he even aid "You;re my elder, I'll respect whatever decision you make..." Really? So Trian isn't his elder too? That line alone would have been enough to doom his plan to failure.
And let's not get into hos the game has the DN just walking up to where Trian is lying dead and waiting there for everyone to find him there...
Another really annoying thing is that you can only find the incriminating papers that link him to Trian's murder only if you side with him first and THEN betray him to Harrowmont when going after Jarvia.
Really, the only reason he's not dead yet in my fiction is because the protegonist, unlike me, actually wants to redeem him.
