Monthly prompt!
Bad Mod! No cookie!
I totally forgot this was my month to give a prompt. Much like my half finished reply to last months' trapped on my waterlogged laptop... oops. (why yes, I did spill ANOTHER glass of water on it).
Anyhoo... this month's prompt is more of a "concept" than a prompt. My favorite literary concept, to be specific.
Byronic.
Awwwwww yeah....
(go ahead and lick your monitor. It's all right, I can wait. And really, who are we to resist the awesome powers of one George Gordon, Lord Byron?)

Ah... Byron. He was, according to Caroline Lamb ""Mad, bad, and dangerous to know." Which could be said of many people, true. But she then went on to have a torrid affair with the man. So... yeah.
WW Norton on the Byronic Hero. Or... if you want something that doesn't read like it was picked out by an English major (note: I was an English major), TV Tropes on the same topic.
And then, of course, the big bad of shoddy research, wikipedia:
Sound like anyone you know? Since if you ask me Thedas is CHURNING THESE PEOPLE OUT. Now... wrap yourself in some velvet, light a purple candle, and get working!

And now Childe Harold was sore sick at heart,
And from his fellow bacchanals would flee;
’Tis said, at times the sullen tear would start,
But pride congealed the drop within his e’e:
Apart he stalked in joyless reverie,
And from his native land resolved to go,
And visit scorching climes beyond the sea;
With pleasure drugged, he almost longed for woe,
And e’en for change of scene would seek the shades below.
