Dunno... it *is* colloquial, and prolly more Brit than US, but it's something I've been corrected to use in the past, to avoid the dreaded -ing participle. Really odd. jannifer's right, but I'd be interested to know what percentage of the readership (generically) actually flag it as incorrect. Colour me curious. ;)
