Ummmnomnomnom. Figs, fresh, sliced into quarters, drizzled with a little honey, and a few crushed pistachios. I'm a big fan of Spanish olive oil. Too bad they don't export it more heavily. I currently have a nice little drum that's oh... a third full. It should last until I move to Germany, and shippin' from Spain then will be cheaper...:sighs happily: Though you gotta tell me where you get this Syrian olive oil. I gots to tap that little bottle like stat. Nothin' better than some manchigo or asiago with a drizzle of olive oil, a plate with some melon and serrano/iberico jamon and UMF. Happy place for Rhion. Interestin'ly though I never did cut myself in the kitchen. Except one time when I was doin' dishes cuz our usual washer was out sick, a waiter quit and threw all her plates into the sink of soapy water, and whups - nice slice right from the tip of my ring finger to the base knuckle. Bled like an unholy terror. And I still had to do the dishes. No scar though! The only other time I cut myself in a semi-cooking scenario was when I was filleting a fish I had just caught on the boat, and got that knife waaay up into my hand. Hello nerve damage! Now I feel the need to go back to the market, buy some fresh figs to go with my little sweet oranges, drizzle some honey and cardamom on them and put'em in the fridge. Already got the cheese sliced up... nomnomnom.
