*nodding* Tjadis deals with the possibility of mages and Templars working together in her "Old Roads" fics over on ff.net. In her back story, this partnership was the norm when the Circle was originally established. As the Chantry became more established, the original relationship was distorted. Of course there would be potential for abuse, but there's plenty of abuse in the current system, isn't there?

I feel strongly that the relationship between mages and Templars should be a much gentler thing than it is ingame. The scene between Alistair and Anders just proves it.
