Harrowing gone wrong questions

Hi all! So I'm writing a fic that has a scene set in the Harrowing Chamber, where the mage becomes an abomination and has to be cut down, and I've a point of confusion I was hoping y'all could help me clarify. Would the First Enchanter and the Knight Commander always be on hand during a Harrowing? Is it ever confirmed anywhere? And if a senior enchanter/the First Enchanter were on hand, they'd fight alongside the Knight Commander/Templars to kill the abomination, right? It's not exactly like they can duck out the door or anything but with all those Cleanses being flung about or whatever...

Also, um, the fic I'm writing is set in the Dragon Age world, but is a crossover using characters from another canon entirely. Is it all right to post that sort of fic here?(Mein gott, it's been a while. I could just throw up a link if it's not kosher or what have you.) Thanks for any help! ♥

I would imagine Harrowings are their major duty, but I wouldn't imagine they'd be on hand for every single one - we know that Irving takes trips outside the tower every now and then.

As for crossover fics, I don't think we have any policy against them! I for one would like to see a few (we've had some magnificent crossover art, so why not fic too!)

I would assume that the First Enchanter and Knight Commander wouldn't always be there - they were there for your Warden because he/she was something of Irving's pet.

However there definitely would be a senior enchanter (and senior templar of some description) there, to oversee proceedings. And yes, they'd be fighting as well. It's for their benefit as well, don't want an abomination loose in the tower to infect all the apprentices...

There's an indication in the game dialogue that a Templar actually stands over the apprentice being Harrowed with a drawn blade so that if the Harrowing does go wrong, things can be ended quickly. Also, Alistair mentions that when he was in training, he stood at a Harrowing which went badly. All he says, though, is that "...we had to end it" from which I surmise that the ending was quick. I don't think that you'd be looking at protracted battles in the Harrowing Chamber, as the situation is tightly controlled from the beginning.

Crossover fics are fine, darlin'. If it's got some DA in it, it can be posted here.

I assumed the Knight-Commander would always be there, and the First Enchanter might not - Amell/Surana was one of Irving's students, but I figure if they had another Senior Enchanter as their tutor, they might be present instead.
