Well, for those who want to fly through a DAO playthrough in order to rebuild a lost character or establish a new canon save for importing to DA2 or whatever, we have a new mod that was a long time in coming:

Skip Fight.

No more having to fumble-finger my way through typing "runscript killallhostiles" over and over again. Nope. Just drop this thingymabob on my task bar and click.

I approve.

Now we just need "Skip the Deep Roads" and my life is complete.

Several of you have asked me about using the console effectively, especially when it comes to skipping Ostagar. There's a skip Ostagar mod in beta right now, but this is also a perfectly acceptable alternative. If you've never used the console before, read console basics. If you have, skip right to getting the fsck out of Ostagar.

NOTE: Doesn't conflict with Zevran ASAP and should work fine with the Ser Gilmore mod. If you're wondering about any others, ask me here and I'll give you my best guess.

Final note
: You'll see that this doesn't give you codices, etc, which is one advantage a full mod has over running the debug script, but since you don't get most of your good gear until Lothering anyway, in this case it's not problematic. (You will miss Havard's aegis, sadly, unless you fought the ogre.) For the record, there's no known way to get the codex entries unlocked using the Ostagar debug script.)

I also wouldn't recommend consoling through the origins like I've shown here. Not only are the debug scripts you'd use less than intuitive, but you really do need the items, money, and XP you receive if you're to be of any use at all. Play the origin like usual, and then skip Ostagar for great justice!

Need help? Ask away. Together we can make this tutorial awesome. If there's an interest, I'll make a Skip Lothering tutorial next, which will be a bit more complex because it involves gathering characters. (Nothing can ever be EASY.)

Dragonmod here!

I'm not dead! Expect a bit of maintenance happening behind the scenes, as well as a post I've been meaning to get live for a while coming soon.

For the record, we're no longer considering DLC spoilerrific, especially now that we're in the dry spell between DLCs and the new DA game.

Thanks darlings!
